A different view of the world

According to a quotation from the Bible – Ecclesiastes 3 to be precise, there is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.  If any of us is to follow through on the meaning of this chapter and its verse, the world has the potential to look very different to the way it looks at present.

In my understanding of the idea, it means that we can all have our moments of self actualisation. We are born into the world and are taught to evaluate and measure everything. As time goes by, most of us are encouraged to accept a hierarchy and to find positions within that arrangement.

Lessons learnt from our forebears help us to make sense of what we experience. Is this the end of the story? Or is it possible that the world is in a state of flux and we can choose to mould new values and institutions out of it if we want to?

Education systems work in tandem with religious establishments and other sources of power to reinforce a worldview that suits the purposes of a relatively small clique.

What would happen if anyone of us decides to file those stories away in order to dream of new goals or possibilities?
