Aiming to be centred
If one looks at the hustle and bustle of getting through life as something similar to riding on a conveyor belt, it makes sense that sometimes people might want to get off the belt to get a feeling of being centred.
Depending on the stimuli around us, each of us gravitates towards something appealing that can achieve this. Some thought leaders have described the desired feeling as a sort of distraction.
Agreeing with the aforementioned point of view could also be seen from the wider perspective of whether or not one accepts the conveyor belt ride as reality or the norm.
Another issue to be considered is the choice a person makes when he or she decides to step off, or take time out. Meditation is not a distractive practice, for example.
