Any performing arts genre can be used as a vehicle for telling stories about anyone or anything. This is a simple fact that should be obvious to everyone, but having access to information is not the same as the sensation described by some folks as “unitive knowing”.
When a mode of communication is stripped bare and freed from restrictive conventions, people from all walks of life can find insights and truth on a basic level.
Many performing artists conflate notions of what they need to be or do to be regarded as respectable, with the real job they sign up for when they dedicate their lives to following their talents and passions.
Education and training can either equip people with mindsets that enable them to see the big picture, or saddle them with tunnel visions about doing things the way they’ve always been done.
