Minding your ‘ps and qs’ in presentation

Presentation skills are now more important than ever before, due to the increase in video conferencing as a tool for social contact.

Needless to say, it is helpful to focus on doing one’s best in any relatively formal setting. There are times and circumstances where one can let one’s hair down and other times when it makes sense to be mindful of being congruent in communication.

Some might think it is artificial to make an effort in one’s choice of words or manner of delivery, but it is obvious that one shouldn’t choose many polysyllabic words to communicate effectively with small children, for example.

A person can be eloquent and able to think on their feet, but also distracting to a listener or viewer because of the style or manner he or she uses for speech delivery.

If someone makes an effort to pay attention to what you have to say, then maybe you should aim to do your best to give a polished presentation.
