On Superstition
Superstition is seen as worthy of ridicule by some folks. I have a genetic inheritance that comes from a part of the world that is often associated with this way of perceiving things.
I have met quite a few atheists in my time. Many of them accept that there is an energy within us that makes the difference between the living and the deceased.
What happens to that energy when a living being’s time is up? I’m not a scientist, so I don’t know the current terminology for describing that process.
If most of us agree that energy of this sort actually exists, then perhaps it makes sense to have opinions about it and the most suitable way to interact with it.
If this is what superstition is all about, then maybe we need to give more attention to the stories we tell ourselves about the role of supernatural forces in our lives, regardless of where we originate from.
