Symbols manifested in real life
It often happens that communicators commit themselves to the expression of lofty ideals that make a lot of sense, not realising that immersion in the real life experience could be lurking, just around the corner.
I have worked collaboratively with several groups to create art about air pollution in the recent past. Some might think having expansive conversations about such issues is over the top in such situations, because their priorities lie in the development of technical skills. Looking back on those projects, I am glad that we took the time to really consider the gravity of what this problem entails.
Who would have guessed last year that many folks would soon walk around wearing masks in the street?
Can anyone take it for granted that the air we are breathing in is safe right now?
Yet, we must breathe to live.
