The truth in what we see

“Never judge a book by its cover”, the saying goes.  It could be a sweeping generalisation to regard this statement as absolute truth, because there are times when our subconscious minds tell us exactly what we need to know about what we see.

On the other hand there are too many moments in life when choices or decisions are made, based on a superficial awareness of the way things could go.

Human nature tends to opt for functioning within our comfort zones. I can look at a person and create a story for myself about his or her likes, dislikes, skills or talents for example.

Any story that I might create is not necessarily the truth of the matter. No one has all the time in the world, to find out the truth behind the images they perceive, but we can attempt to be open minded.

Life has many lessons to teach us all, when we come to terms with the idea that we will never know everything.
