Underneath the wrappers

 Stephen Sondheim, in his song Way down underneath says “Sometimes when the wrappings fall, there’s nothing underneath at all”.

Style and presentation matter. There are many worthwhile ideas, products and raw materials that can derive benefit from styling and packaging.

On the other hand, it is important not to place the cart in front of the horse. There are basic things we all need to do in order to produce good work.

Everyone is bound to have gaps and spaces in their tool kits. It makes sense to be honest and humble enough to accept the truth about ourselves and what we know.

When we do this, we save time and energy, possibly building trust in our associations and relationships
