Who else has changed?
Reflecting about my lifestyle before the disruption of the last couple of months and thinking about the present, I can only conclude that I have changed.
Today is the start of a new phase in the easing of lock down restrictions. In conversations with colleagues we often speculated that it would be an emotional experience to return to the way things were. Facing such a moment today, I’m not so sure about that.
Living in the present, some priorities are different, for example. It doesn’t help matters that many restrictions are still in place. Venturing out beyond my neck of the woods feels like a major expedition.
Extensive online communication is shifting the goal posts regarding access to information and activities in ways that were unimaginable before.
It will be interesting to see whether or not large numbers of people will revert to doing things in the old ways.
